Q. Can you invoice me in JPY instead of USD?
A. The PayPal account and credit card I use are American, so all invoices are in USD. I investigated opening a Japanese PayPal account, but the fees are absolutely astronomical in comparison to American accounts and withdrawing the money is a much more complicated process (the Japanese bank system is rather archaic), so in the end, I scrapped the idea.
I know it’s not always ideal for non-American customers, but in the end the price ends up about the same, even with PayPal’s ridiculous foreign exchange rate.
Q. How will I know when my order has arrived to you?
A. I will let you know once it arrives! After that, you can request shipping using the shipping request form.
Q. Can I "reserve" a spot for items before they are officially announced? e.g. after previews have come out on blogs, in magazines, etc.
A. Yes, however, if you are not already an established customer, I require a $50 deposit to hold your spot. This deposit will be applied toward your initial payment once pricing is released for the item(s). It is nonrefundable if you change your mind, because my spots are limited, so please be sure you are ready to commit.
Q. Will you do "wishlist shopping"? (i.e. paying a monthly fee for me to look for a specific secondhand item in stores)
A. Unfortunately, it would cost too much to offer this service. I am willing to purchase items you see on Closet Child Osaka's blog if they are still available when you send the request.
Q. Can I pay for the item after you buy it?
A. No. I will not shop until I have received your first payment.
Q. Do you accept payment plans?
A. In effect, no. Some types of reservations allow a deposit upfront instead of full payment, but other than deposits for reservations, full payment is required upfront.
Q. If you aren't able to get an item for me, can you use the money I paid for something else?
A. Yes, I am willing to keep the money to use for a future purchase to save on fees. Please note that the travel fee is still nonrefundable for in-person shopping.
Q. Will you hold items for me while I add more to my order?
A. I am happy to hold your order indefinitely, as long as you are still actively ordering more. If you do not add anything for a month, you will be asked to request shipping or you will be charged storage fees.
Q. Will you purchase tickets to events?
A. Typically yes, but please note these fall under "special items" and will incur a 15% service fee. Some types of tickets I may not be able to purchase due to restrictions (fan club only, etc.).
Q. Can you shop on apps like Fril or Mercari?
A. Yes, please see my fees for more information.
Q. Can you bid on mbok auctions?
A. Mbok has a monthly subscription fee, and as I don't receive many requests for it, I have opted not to continue my subscription and do not offer mbok services.
Q. Will you mark my package as a gift/mark the value as I request?
A. I can fill out customs forms to your specifications. Please let me know if you have special requests when you ask for your shipping quote. Please note that insurance will only cover the declared value, so keep that in mind if you have special requests.
Q. Will you send the novelty items that came with my order?
A. I will always include novelties that come with online shopping. In store shopping is a little more complicated, as novelties are limited to one per person - if you are the only order to meet the requirements for the novelty, I will always include it with your items. Otherwise, I will make a decision based on how much each person spent and who orders first.
